Stories of Change

New Garden Ministry at the School!

The children learn many things while they are at school, but one subject that we have recently added, now that we have access to fresh clean water, is gardening. This has proved to be very helpful to these children! They are learning to garden in a small, fenced in garden we built near the school and are having great results! We are encouraging the children to do the same at home as a means of earning some small income for books, pens and pencils.

As well as learning the skill of gardening, these children are providing another means by which we can feed them, as we’re using all of the vegetables grown in the school garden for their meal in the morning. Not only does it reduce the cost of every meal, but it also gives the children vitamins and other nutrients that can’t be found in porridge.

The children are very thankful to be able to garden and for many of them it is their favorite subject in school! We are so thankful for the ways God provides for these children. He really does take special care of the orphans!
