Encounters of Faith: Worship, Testimonies, and Prayer in a Remote Village

Aaron took us to a remote village where the leaders of all the surrounding villages gathered for worship, prayer and encouragement. A lot of these believers are house church leaders in their own villages, and they were so kind and welcoming to us. After we came in, the room immediately burst into a loud 3 part African harmony, followed by lots of worship, dancing, and clapping. No song books, instruments or drums; just incredible singing to Jesus. Here's a quick video I took during the worship. (0:17 secs)

After worship, I greeted them from the United States and told them that we would love to learn more about their life stories and how the Lord is working in their lives. Then I shared my story of how God worked is working in my life. After I finished, they went one by one around the room for over 2 hours sharing testimony after testimony of the faithfulness of Jesus! It was so wonderful and encouraging to us. The Spirit of the Lord is truly at work in every corner of the world!

After we closed in prayer, we gave each person their very own Bible and 2 audio Bibles in their own language (Bemba). They were overjoyed; you would have thought they had just won the lottery!

The following day, we traveled to Kitwe to get quotes on a borehole (a freshwater well) and to visit the Kitwe Market. We met up with one of the sponsored children who is attending a private school in Kitwe and were able to buy her a new backpack, shoes, clothes, Bible and some other school supplies.

The Kitwe Market was very eye-opening for Christian, Nicholas and Matthew. They are now describing it like "ten Walmarts that put all their products outside under tents, in random order with no price tags on anything." 😂😂😂

They actually loved it and want to go back to explore more.
